The Sixteenth Annual Symposium of the Burgers Program for Fluid Dynamics

The Sixteenth Annual Symposium of the Burgers Program for Fluid Dynamics will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 1 - 6 p.m. in the Kay Boardroom (rooms 1107 & 1111) of the Kim Building at the University of Maryland, College Park. A list of the four lectures of the symposium is given below and a flyer with further details can be found there soon. As in previous years, we will have a poster session displaying the work of graduate students and post-docs and a reception from 5 - 6 p.m. following the symposium.

Burgers Lecture: "Reynolds Number Scaling in Wall-Bounded Flows," Alexander J. Smits, Princeton University.
"Quadrant Analysis in Turbulence Research: History and Evolution," James M. Wallace, emeritus, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and IPST, University of Maryland, College Park.
"The Microphysical Challenges of the Growth of an Atmospheric Cloud Droplet," Akua Asa-Awuku, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park.
"Avalanches as Granular Flows and Applications in Microgravity," Christine M. Hartzell, Department of Aerospace Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park.
